The Collision of Faith, Media and Culture

How do these three intertwine? More personally, how do these intertwine in our personal life? It is easy to live life   compartmentally, keeping nice, neat, separate boxes with the various areas of our lives. Is this effective?

Our guest this week was a dynamic, intentional, creative leader, John David Ware, who is an award-winning writer-director and Founder and President of 168 Film. 168 Film includes worldwide film-making and writing competitions and the 168 Film Festival, August 26-27, 2017.

Contestants create media during a (168 hour) week, based on foundational scriptures. Over 1,000 short films have been produced worldwide since 2003. 168 is having a huge effect on the future of the media through their work. Changing the storytellers will change the world.

The 168 Film Festival is an international celebration, where audiences witness the power of scripture on screen as the stories are told. This red carpet affair shows the work of determined artists worldwide, who have made short films based on a Theme, a Verse and a Week.

John has produced the 168 Film Festival for 15 years, featuring celebrities such as Candace Cameron Bure, (Full House), Zachary Levi (Tangled), and Stephen Baldwin (The Usual Suspects).

John is an example of living our faith and allowing it to impact every area of our lives while inviting others into a grander story. It is challenging to intentionally live out our faith in today’s culture. As John has experienced, people are looking for another story, one filled with hope, purpose and love. What story are we living and telling? Listen in: Girlfriendit Radio http://ow.ly/B3vl30bEnaV
